Dr. Becky Gonzalez is the director of the Multilingual Syntax Lab. She is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Spanish and Portuguese and Linguistics. She is primarily interested in theoretical and cognitive aspects of multilingualism and how multilingual structures are represented in the mental architecture. She has worked with several types of adult multilinguals, including simultaneous and sequential bilinguals, heritage speakers, L2 learners, and L3 learners. 

Rachel Wagle is a first-year PhD student in Hispanic Linguistics. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Education and a minor in Latin American Studies from Augustana College in 2019. Prior to beginning graduate school, Rachel taught Spanish for four years at Pleasant Valley High School. Her research interests include second language acquisition and syntax, specifically focusing on subject-verb inversion and argument structures in Spanish.

Isabella Weber is a third-year undergraduate studying International Studies and Linguistics with a minor in Spanish. She is interested specifically in Hispanic linguistics and shared syntax in Spanish-English heritage bilinguals, as well as dialectology and sociolinguistics.
